On July 28th to August 9th, 2024, the Japan team had a chance to visit Bangkok and meet the Thailand team as a process of the SATREPS project initiation. The project is titled “Project for Data Driven Dynamic Transport Management in Emerging Metropolis for Climate Change Mitigation”, which will take Bangkok as the study case.
Among the attendants are Mr. Kawahara Shuntaro as the representative from JICA, Assoc. Prof. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit as the Dean of Faculty of Engineering in Chulalongkorn University, Prof. Fukuda Daisuke as the Principal Investigator of the Project, and Prof. Kasem Choocharukul as the Co-Principal Investigator of the Project. During the visit, both parties discussed some important points related to the preparation of the Project, including its framework, contents, and scope of work. The visit was concluded with a signing ceremony.

Aside from having some discussions with Chulalongkorn University, the team also took the time to visit some other authorities concerned in Thailand: Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), The intelligent Traffic Information Center Foundation (iTIC), Toyota Motor Asia (Toyota Mobility Foundation), Genius, and Department of Land Transport (DLT) -Ministry of Transport. The team had fruitful discussions with all of the authorities and we wish for their continuous support on the project going forward.
